Senior leaders in banks, asset managers and exchanges seeking to develop their high potential female middle managers and the individual participants themselves.
Our sector faces severe talent shortages and needs to maximise the growth and performance of its most talented staff. Women working in financial services are exiting in substantial numbers at mid-senior level. Both groups of clients – employers and individual women – are seeking to build inclusive organisations that harness the benefits of gender balance and allow their talent to thrive.
In 2012, we designed and delivered a unique ‘open’ programme for organisations across financial markets. Grounded in our substantial knowledge of the challenges faced by the those working in technical and operations teams in particular, our inaugural programmes combined individual coaching with two-day workshops.
Participants were encouraged to
- gain clarity of who they are in the work context – talents, drivers and values
- develop a personal, sustainable vision for their career
- use strategies for enhancing confidence and personal impact
- navigate their organisation successfully
- evolve a set of resources to support their career ambitions
They completed the programme with action learning sets, supported by our specialist coaches to provide on going support.
The programmes created a safe, supportive and stimulating environment for reflection and decision making. Participants achieved clarity regarding where they are going and how to get there, with new skills and techniques to support them on their journey. Together, we created a network of new relationships and for employers, a forum for organisations to address the industry-wide issue of the loss of senior female talent.
“I just wanted to share some good news with you – after feeling like I have been going nowhere for so long, I have finally been successful in getting a promotion. I would just like to say thanks to you – I am crediting the programme and your coaching for helping to make a massive difference to the way I have treated my career progression and I really don’t think I would have done it without you!” Participant 2012
